Culinary Arts

Culinary Arts (CA)* The Culinary Arts program will provide students with a wide-range of experience in the many positions of the culinary and food service industry with a heavy importance on sanitation and safety. After completing the ServSafe unit and safety training, first-year students will operate our catering services. All students will rotate in a wide variety of restaurant positions gaining valuable work experience in customer service, teamwork, commercial foods and the hospitality industry. Students may earn the American Heart Certifications: Heartsaver CPR, AED and First Aid. Additionally, at the end of the first year, students have the opportunity to obtain their ServSafe certification (Allergen and Food Handler). The second year is for students considering a career in Culinary Arts and provides opportunities to explore managerial opportunities, time management and career exploration at a Work Based Learning (WBL) site.
