Culinary Arts

The Culinary Arts program will provide students with an extensive experience in the many facets of the culinary and food service industry with a heavy emphasis on sanitation and safety. After completing the ServSafe unit and safety training, first-year students will operate and manage our on-site restaurant, The Starting Place. All students will have an opportunity to work in a wide variety of restaurant positions gaining valuable work experience in customer service, teamwork, commercial foods and the hospitality industry. At the end of the first year, students have the opportunity to obtain their ServSafe certification. The second year is for students considering a career in Culinary Arts and provides opportunities to delve deeper into management, allergen training certification, advanced food preparation, time management, and career exploration.
