The Cosmetology course is a multi-year commitment in which students complete 1500 hours of required instruction. High school Students can enroll in the program and are required to return after high school graduation to complete the 1500 hour requirement. First year Students concentrate on theory and perform hands-on work on mannequins and each other. Second year Students continue theory and practical work as well as operate the Touch of Class; a salon where Students experience real-life salon situations. Students completing the program may apply to take the Michigan Cosmetology Exam and upon passing the test, they will be licensed as a cosmetologist.
