Cosmetology

The Cosmetology course is a two or three-year commitment for those students pursuing the required 1,500 hours of instruction for their State of Michigan Cosmetology license. Students may enroll in the program as a junior or senior in high school and must return after high school graduation to complete the 1,500-hour requirement. First & second year Students concentrate on theory and practice hands-on skills utilizing mannequins and each other. Third-year Students continue theory and practical work as well as operate the Touch of Class Salon where students experience real-life salon situations. Students completing the program may apply to take the Michigan Cosmetology Exam and upon passing the test, they will be licensed as a cosmetologist.
