"Medical First Responder" is a person who uses a limited amount of equipment to perform the initial assessment of and intervention with sick, wounded or otherwise incapacitated persons. To be licensed, as a Medical First Responder in Michigan, you must complete an approved course, pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians' Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Exam and apply to & be improved by State Department of Health, Division of Emergency Medical Services. The curriculum is designed to challenge the Medical First Responder student to consider their roles & responsibilities, evaluate the care provided to patients and discover the why behind the care.
