EMT Specialist

EMTS 211

The EMT-Specialist program is designed to provide the student with the knowledge to become a licensed EMT-S within the state of Michigan. Emphasis will be placed on the development of knowledge and skills needed to provide limited advanced lifesaving care. This course is based on the U.S. Department of Transportation National Standard Curriculum for an EMT-Specilist training program. This course is approved by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services-Bureau of EMS, Trauma, and Preparedness and is sponsored by Mecosta-Osceola Career Center. The student will complete a total of 100 classroom and 50 clinical hours; a total of 150 course hours. All clinical hours MUST be completed by the scheduled end date of class. Following successful completion of this course, the student will be eligible to take the National Registry written exam. The exam reservation forms, license, application, and instructions for application completion will be provided upon successful completion of the final exam and class.
