EMT Specialist

The EMT-Specialist (AEMT) program is designed to provide the student wtih the knowledge to become a licensed EMT-S AEMT within the state of Michigan. Emphasis will be palced on the development of knowledge and skills needed to provide limited advanced life saving care. This course is based on the U.S. Department of Transportation National Standard Curriculum for an AEMT training program. This course is approved by the michigan Department of Health and human Services-Bureau of EMS, Trauma, and Preparedness and is sponsored by Mecosta-Osceola Career Center. The student will complete a total of 100 classroom and 50 clincal hours; a total of 150 course hours. All clinical hours MUST be completed by the scheduled end date of class. Following successful completion of this course, the student will be eligible to take the National Registry written AEMT exam. The exam reservation forms, license, application, and instructions for application completion will be provided upon successful completion of the final exam and class.
