PROGRAM OVERVIEW

 

The Graphic Communications program is a two year program designed to expose students to all facets of the printing, publishing and design industry.

First year students will create computer designs and illustrations, digital and black and white photographs, single-color and multi-color printed material as well as screen-print on shirts.

Second year students will choose an area of emphasis for building their portfolio in preparation for a career in the graphic communications field.

 

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Our Graphic Communications students have hands-on designing with Macintosh computers, Adobe design software and Macromedia multimedia/animation software.  Work exploration, job shadowing, college articulation, advanced placement and portfolio reviews with nationally recognized design and printing colleges and universities are also available for Graphic Communication students.

 

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Possible career opportunities available to Graphic Communication students would be writing, photography, multimedia or Web designer, press operator, sales representative, graphic designer and illustrator.
