PROGRAM OVERVIEW Students will have the knowledge of theory and practical skills to pass the Michigan State Board examination required for the licensing of cosmetologists.  The students attend the Career Center in their senior year of high school where they may accumulate 450 hours of training.  Students then return after graduation to accumulate the remaining hours needed to obtain 1500 hours of instruction.

 

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Cosmetology students will gain experience in nail, hair and wig design, manicuring, pedicuring, hair coloring, permanent waving and facials as well as gain effective  communication skills required to work with the public.

 

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Graduated cosmetology students have a wide array of career opportunities to choose from such as cosmetologist, nail technician, color technician, product educator, platform artist, salon owner, make-up artist and salon manager.
