Program Description
The CAD/Drafting program is a two-year program in technical drafting and CAD (Computer-Aided-Design). The first year of the program consists of manual drafting/CAD with the development of basic drafting skills. Students are also exposed to three-dimensional solid modeling using Solidworks, Inventor and Mechanical Desktop. The second year of the program consists of CAD with emphasis on student design of tools, jigs, fixtures and sheet metal stamping dies for manufacturing and advanced three-dimensional CAD modeling. Additional drafting career training opportunities may be available upon instructor approval.
BENEFITS FOR THE COLLEGE BOUND STUDENT:
The CAD/Drafting Program provides excellent foundation skills for college Associate Degree and/or Bachelor Degree in engineering. After completion of this program, a student may be granted credit from Ferris State University. Credit will be based upon competency testing and instructor recommendation. |
