Mission Statement

To support the improvement of mathematics, science and technology education for all students, educators and the community through student services, curriculum support, professional development, community involvement, leadership and a resource clearinghouse.

History

The MSTC was established in 1987 with the Science Van. This elementary outreach program assisted teachers by bringing hands-on science into the elementary classrooms.  Science Van served all 5,500 elementary students in our ISD.

In 1988 the first ISD-wide distance education project in Michigan was added to the list of services provided.

In 1989, Monday Night Technology, a middle school outreach program was started.  MNT served all interested middle schoolers in the area until the program was cut in 2003 because of lost funding.

The MSTC High School accelerated program began in 1993. This four-year, partial-day accelerated program serves about 100 students.

The Mecosta-Osceola Math Science Technology Center serves six public and several private school districts in Mecosta and Osceola Counties.  It is located in the west central portion of the lower peninsula and covers about 1,100 square mile of predominately rural area and around 11,000 students
